We are thrilled to announce that the next annual Luna Lab Festival will be held from June 6-10, 2023.
The 2022–23 fellows—Hannah Chen, Lucy Chen, Lili Masoudi, Gabrielle Smith, Elaina Stuppler, and Isabelle Tseng—will travel to New York City to participate in five days of workshops, master classes, networking events, performances, and more.
This year’s events include workshops with Luna Lab mentors inti figgis-vizueta and Dawn Norfleet; master classes with composer/guitarist/bassist Aeryn Santillan and percussionist Clara Warnaar, a film panel led by Jeff Beal and Laura Karpman, visits with leaders in the arts, trips to celebrated venues, collaborative participation in rehearsals, and more.
The festival culminates on June 10 in a performance of six world premiere compositions by the 2022–23 fellows at Stiefel Hall, Mannes School of Music (55 West 13th Street, New York, NY). Our 2022–23 Ensemble-in-Residence, The International Contemporary Ensemble, will perform these premieres alongside works by Luna Lab mentors Wang Lu and Nina Shekhar. The performance will be hosted by the American Composers Orchestra‘s SoniC festival.
