We asked our 2022–23 fellows—Hannah Chen, Lucy Chen, Lili Masoudi, Gabrielle Smith, Elaina Stuppler, and Isabelle Tseng—what inspired the pieces they have been working on with their mentors this year. Read on to see where they each found inspiration.

The next annual Luna Lab Festival will be held from June 6-10, 2023. The 2022–23 fellows will travel to New York City to participate in five days of workshops, master classes, networking events, performances, and more, culminating in a performance of their world premiere compositions.

In May 2023 Luna Lab alumni Madeline Clara Cheng (2020-21) and Caleb Palka (2017-18) will travel to Bergen for workshops with young female and nonbinary Norwegian composers, led by mentor Therese Ulvo. In addition, both Maddie and Caleb will have their works premiered on festival concerts.
