Virtual Master Class with Kebra-Seyoun Charles
As part of our ongoing partnership with ChamberQUEER, Kebra-Seyoun Charles leads a double bass master class. Kebra will highlight their career as a composer and performer, discuss bass techniques, and play excerpts of works by our 2024–25 fellows. They will also offer insights for young composers in an engaging Q&A.

Aeryn Santillan leads a workshop on the basics of integrating electronics in compositions. Aeryn will speak about her background, compositional process, and career in the arts as a composer, bassist, and guitarist. She will also offer insights for young composers in an engaging Q&A.

Virtual Master Class with Clara Warnaar
Percussionist and composer Clara Warnaar tends towards interdisciplinary projects, actively playing and commissioning new music. In addition to being a member of the Contemporary Ensemble, Clara has appeared as a guest artist with Yarn/Wire, the Bang on a Can Orchestra, and Ensemble Signal, and also has a solo ambient project and is the drummer for the band, Infinity Shred. Clara will gives a master class on percussion techniques and perform excerpts of works by our 2024–25 fellows.

Virtual Master Class with Marion Newman
Marion Newman is one of Canada’s most accomplished singers, with operatic roles like Carmen, Rosina, and Shanawdithit, and more. She is also a voice faculty member at the University of Victoria and host of CBC’s Saturday Afternoon at the Opera. Marion will lead a masterclass on vocal techniques, sharing insights from her experience and performing short excerpts by our 2024–25 fellows.

As part of our ongoing partnership with ChamberQUEER, Rajna Swaminathan, acclaimed mrudangam artist, composer, and scholar will give a composition workshop. Rajna will speak about her background, compositional process, and career in the arts. She will also offer insights for young composers in an engaging Q&A.

As part of our ongoing partnership with ChamberQUEER, Brittany Green—a composer, performer, and educator from North Carolina—will lead a composition workshop. Tony Award–winning composer Jeanine Tesori joins us for a conversation and workshop on her career as a composer and collaborator. In addition to her work on Broadway for shows such as Shrek, Fun Home, and Kimberly Akimbo, she is one of the first women commissioned by the Metropolitan Opera (alongside Missy Mazzoli).
