Virtual Master Class with Reena Esmail
Indian-American composer and former Luna Lab Mentor Reena Esmail leads a composition workshop. Reena will speak about her background, compositional process, and career in the arts. She will also offer insights for young composers in an engaging Q&A.

The May Festival’s 25 for 25: Community Choral Showcase
Luna Lab’s largest commissioning initiative to date, The May Festival’s 25 for 25: A New Time for Choral Music has commissioned 25 alumni of the fellowship program to write new choral works for ensembles across Greater Cincinnati.

Virtual Master Class with Kronos Quartet
One of the most celebrated and influential ensembles, the Kronos Quartet joins us for a conversation and workshop on their adventurous approach, commissioning history, and collaborative ethos.

Luna Composition Lab at the Bergen International Festival
Luna Composition Lab returns to the Bergen International Festival in May 2023 for workshops with mentor composer Therese Ulvo and young female and nonbinary Norwegian composers, plus premieres of works by Luna Lab alums.

Monica Ellis (bassoon) and Kevin Newton (French horn) of Imani Winds join us for a wind masterclass. Monica and Kevin will highlight their careers as performers in Imani Winds, discuss bassoon and French horn techniques, and play excerpts of works by our 2022–23 fellows.
