Yuri Lee

Yuri Lee (age 19) a Korean-Japanese composer and violinist from Tuckahoe, New York. She is a story-teller through the unique themes and extramusical ideas of her compositions that animate the listener’s imagination. She studied composition with Manuel Sosa and Daniel Felsenfeld at the Juilliard Preparatory Division, and is continuing her studies in music at Princeton University. Her compositions have been awarded by National YoungArts, ASCAP, NYO-USA, the American Prize, National Young Composers Challenge, Tribeca New Music, Metropolitan Youth Orchestra, and NYSSMA. By founding “Music Around Us Project” and aspiring to become a film composer, she hopes to achieve her life dream of making people happy with music.
