Marvel Jem Roth (age 16) is a composer-conductor based in Los Angeles. She is a YoungArts Classical Composition Winner, Penn State Ballora-Wang Young Composer Winner, and ASCAP Morton Gould Finalist. Marvel is a third-year fellow in the LA Philharmonic Composer Fellowship Program, mentored by Andrew Norman and Sarah Gibson, and 2023 composition fellow for the NowBeat Project. Marvel’s compositions have been performed by the Juilliard School, Colburn School, Southeast Symphony, and members of the LA Phil. A musician herself, Marvel has performed at the Stanford Jazz Institute, Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Essentially Ellington, Alice Tully Hall, and Walt Disney Concert Hall.
